Stray dogs roaming the streets of Rensselaer County have new hope.
The community’s strays, often former pets, will greatly benefit from the grand opening of Dog House Adoptions, Inc. Dog House Adoptions, the Capital Region’s new rescue, cares for stray dogs of Rensselaer County. When these dogs reach the end of their five day hold unclaimed, they are not at the end of their leash. Dog House Adoptions is designed to find them homes.
Dog House Adoptions’ mission is to offer a comprehensive solution to the abundance of stray dogs in our community by caring for dogs who need our help now, by educating the public to protect dogs of the future, and by allowing dogs to give back as they do best – with their whole hearts – through ommunity involvement. Most importantly, the aim is to make volunteering a safe place for all by accomplishing each of these things with a sense of humor.

…
Our formal public introduction was at the 112th Annual Dinner {with a twist} & Business Expo hosted by the Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom on May 17, 2012. In attendance and in support of us was Steven McLaughlin, New York State Assemblyman; Kathy Jimino, Rensselear County Executive; and Councilman Lou Desso of the Rensselaer County Legislature.
At that time, our founding members had just filed for incorporation, gained support of whole pet foods company The Honest Kitchen , and gathered a handful of dedicated volunteers.
Now Going Public – Join Us!
Having since developed our rhythm, placing 16 happy dogs into loving homes under our organization name (with many others prior), we eagerly welcome growth, public engagement, and greater volunteerism with open arms.
Come to our public Grand Opening and to join our amazing team today!
Again, that’s…
