Foxy at Dog House Adoptions

Foxy at Dog House AdoptionsBeautiful Australian Shepherd Blend
Female, roughly 18 months old

The most gentle yet alert orphan we had, Foxy rests her paws on you for attention while looking at you with her deep, soft brown eyes. At the house after her spay, while surrounded by two dog-weary cats, even they sensed her gentle demeanor as she gazed upon them without ire.

Foxy is a lady in every way, with perfect household manners. She is house trained, she’ll sit, she savors her dinner slowly, and she takes her treats gently with no elbows (or feet) on the table. Foxy has a fun-loving side too. Exuberant on the leash and during play, she may jump up, but even that is gentle, as is her soft spoken bark.

Foxy was found in Poestenkill on October 6th, 2011, thin, unspayed, and her coat the hue of dirty dishwater. Now shining with colorful fur, clear eyes and a happy heart, Foxy thrives with a healthy diet and affectionate care.

ADOPTED!

From Marie (and Tom), wonderful new pet parents of this beautiful dog now named Sophie…

Tom and I wanted to let you know how much we love, love, love having Foxy (now Sophie) live with us.  She is an absolute joy to have around and we believe she’s happy in her new home.  Despite treats and some cajoling,  she wanted nothing to do with the nice dog crate, however she sleeps beautifully through the night in her cozy bed and did well on her own in the house yesterday. (My Dad checked in on her mid-day).  She is a big hit with our family and neighbors and the neighborhood dogs.  We are impressed with all the good manners and tricks she knows (very well trained and quick to figure things out). She really is a good mix of energy and calm that I think is rare in such a young dog.  Tom and I feel blessed already to have such a wonderful dog in our lives – what a find Sophie is.

Thank you for EVERYTHING your rescue organization and Creekside Kennel did to care for her and patiently find an adoptive family.

With grateful regards,
Marie
